Apps and tools we build outside Drupal: desktop apps, developer tooling, and the skills we use with Claude Code. They are not Drupal, and they are not what we sell. We keep them here as the record of what we make and how. Our Drupal work is under Projects.
App Lab
Cabinet
Native Rust desktop app — the front door and the camera for
Zero-Shot Games, a collection of browser games each built
solo by AI from a single prompt. cabinet sync idempotently
mirrors the games library to a local folder; cabinet play runs
any title full-screen in a tao + wry WebView2
window — offline, nothing to install per game.
TinyBooth Sound Studio
Native Rust + egui Windows desktop app. Import a Suno bundle and stems get auto-classified by role and routed through role-specific cleanup chains; every import verifies polarity and coherence against the bundled mixdown. Multitrack lanes with per-track Correction chain (HPF, four-band EQ, de-esser, gate, compressor, Coherence Restoration), live BS.1770-4 LUFS metering on the master, per-track A/B against the unprocessed source.
MatriSaver
Windows-native screensaver shipped as a .scr installed into
System32 via MSI. Built on Rust + wgpu with an HDR
Rgba16Float render pipeline, mip-chain bloom, ACES tone map, and a
configurable overlay pack. The egui settings dialog (the /c
screensaver verb) exposes admin-panel knobs for HDR, bloom, and overlay
dwell-time. GitHub-Releases-based in-app self-update.
MDReader
A native, self-contained Windows desktop markdown viewer. No runtime,
no browser engine, no background services. Scans a configurable root
directory for .md files, presents them in a collapsible
sidebar tree, and renders the selected file as formatted markdown with
syntax-highlighted code fences via egui_commonmark. Inline
images, figure captions through the CommonMark title attribute, PDF
export via bundled headless Chromium.
ExamHelper
Desktop learning console built in Rust with egui. Pluggable study
modules — each cartridge ships its own content, questions, fonts, and
language config; drop a new cartridge folder into cartridges/
and restart, no recompile needed. Bundled cartridges: Colombian
Nationality (Spanish) and Japanese 100 (Japanese / English).
TypeDrill
A private, offline typing trainer that scores you the way an employment
assessment does — then tells you which keys cost you the score and
builds an exercise out of them. Runs are forward-timed: the clock counts up
and your completion time on a fixed, stored passage is the score, so this
week's 41.2s against last week's 47.9s is a real
measurement, not a rate against an arbitrary countdown.
Rust Skeleton
Drop-in scaffolding for any Windows desktop app built on Rust +
eframe/egui. Ships: eframe single-window app with dark-mode default,
JSON config persisted to %APPDATA%, build.rs
reading the latest git tag and exposing APP_VERSION, WiX
MSI installer with MajorUpgrade plus a Desktop shortcut, and a
self-update mechanism polling GitHub Releases.
Acer RGB Controller (colormemuch)
Native Rust + egui Windows desktop app that takes over every RGB light
on the Acer Predator Helios Neo 16S (PHN16S-71) — the 4-zone keyboard
backlight and the lid "shield" logo PredatorSense hides behind presets.
Reverse engineering established that the vendor's AcerGamingFunction
WMI interface is a dead end for lighting; Acer actually drives the LEDs
through a bundled OpenRGB server, so colormemuch speaks the
OpenRGB SDK directly — a small blocking std::net client, no
elevation required.
Swivel
A Claude Code skill for long agent sessions. A session rarely loses its
purpose in one step: it services a reasonable request, then another prompted
by that, until it is three frames away from what was actually being built.
Swivel declares one core lane per project, logs anything that arrives
from an inbox, tracker or notification as an injected lane, and asks
three questions of every new frame: where did it come from, does it have its
own counterparty and clock, and does the core move if it is done? In-flight
state goes to .swivel/ as stashes built to survive a cold read:
evidenced claims, whose ball each thread is in, the next physical action, and
the landmines.
Dangler
Every MCP server you register costs context and processes before a single tool is called. Dangler replaces the whole roster with one registration: five small meta-tools that let the model discover capability on demand.
systray-temp
A Windows system-tray thermometer. The icon is the reading: the
rounded CPU package temperature, redrawn every two seconds in Segoe UI Bold on
a transparent 32×32 canvas — green below 75 °C, amber from 75,
red from 90, and a grey -- when no sensor answers. Hovering names
the sensor the figure came from, because on a given machine that is rarely
obvious.
